Started from 2013, the international Formula-E race at Art Center included a “Pro Class” category with teams participating from Mattel, Axial and Honda.

Gensler Associates, Disney Imagineering, Mattel and Axial all presented awards for achievement to designs reflecting their company values.

Mattel Hot Wheels Powerhouse Award: “Those who challenge convention, dare to be different, and go against the grain in search of the ultimate ride”.

Axial Racing Design Award: “Axial looks for innovation and/or a departure from the norm and expected.  Regardless of failure or success the risk was taken.  Second is refinement and resolution of the innovation, leading to a successful design.  Finally, taking the innovative design, refining the details and styling to create a visually attractive product”.

Walt Disney Imagineering “Moonshot Award”: For the team who is trying to do something different to solve the problem, even it may not win.”
